The process of injection molding can be defined as a manufacturing process where heated molten plastic is forced into a mold cavity under pressure.

The process of injection molding can be defined as a manufacturing process where heated molten plastic is forced into a mold cavity under pressure. A mold cavity is a negative of the part being produced. When the cavity is filled with molten plastic and cooled, the plastic becomes solid resulting in a completed positive component. Imperial Plastics utilizes over 150 molding machines across four (4) manufacturing facilities, ranging in press tonnage from 40 ton to 3300 tons. This allows us to produce very small to extremely large parts, for the best OEM’s in the world.

At Imperial Plastics we annually mold over 41 million pounds of material. Resin types range from commodity to engineering grade and are purchased from bag to railcar quantities depending on your application.
